Exposing a Trojan Horse

There is Trojan Horse in the homeschool movement that can destroy all the freedoms we have to educate our children as we desire. A Trojan Horse whose purpose is to destroy all the freedoms that the early pioneers of homeschooling worked for. What is this Trojan Horse that I am talking about?

I noticed over the years that I can get free textbooks and computers if I enroll my child in such and such government sponsored school. I can still homeschool at home but I am to use the free curriculum provided. These government funded programs are very enticing especially when you do not have money for computers for each child. They go by various names: virtual schools, online public schools, and charter schools. They do have less regulations than the traditional schools but they still must meet state standards. If you do enroll your child in these schools you will be answering to the state. You will not have the freedom to do as you like in your homeschool. As more and more homeschoolers enroll their children in these government schools it will open the doors for the state to have more regulations over the entire homeschool movement.

A 30 minute DVD, Exposing a Trojan Horse, by the National Alliance of Christian Home Education Leadership is now part of our homeschool library. Recently it was shown at one of our monthly meetings. I urge all of the local homeschoolers who do use government funded programs to watch this DVD. You are forfeiting the blessings of a traditional Christian homeschool in which you can start the day with prayer and Bible reading. Jesus had promised in Matthew 6: 33 that if you seek the kingdom of God above all else He will give you everything you need.

The DVD ended with the verse in Joshua 24: 15
"But if you refuse to serve the Lord, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.”
